Virtual Workshop: Qualitative Research in Information Systems

Event Type: Workshop
Date: November 9-10,2020
CITAPP Co-ordinating faculty: Janaki Srinivasan
Collaborating Organizations: IIT Delhi, INAIS
Description: In recent years, the Information Systems domain has enthusiastically embraced the use of qualitative methods. While young researchers are excited to use qualitative methods in their work in this domain, we find that it can often be a struggle for them to locate tools and insights from experienced researchers to help them along in their research journey. The 2 day virtual workshop is an attempt to fill this gap by forming a network of academic and experienced researchers in the qualitative research domain. The workshop includes sessions on Craftign Ethnographic Research and hands on sessions on Atlas.Ti, WEFT, QDA Miner and NVivo among others

CITAPP at IIIT Bangalore is an interdisciplinary think-tank set-up to focus on the policy challenges and the organizational demands made by technological innovation. Of particular interest to the Centre is how technological advances, along with institutional changes that harness the legitimacy and the powers of bureaucracies and market, address the needs of underserved communities.
