About the talk: Data journalism in India is challenging. We at Mint take it a notch by doing it daily non-stop. Over the past year, we’ve done over 300 thoroughly researched data stories. In this talk, we take a look at our in house process of dealing with data on a daily basis. In a country like ours, where data isn’t necessarily error-free or without biases, the first part of the session takes a look at how we make sure we report the objective truth in a visually compelling way. In the second part of the talk, we take a quick walkthrough at the process of generating a story and visuals from scratch to end. (No deadline pressure and editors involved)
