About the Aug 18th talk: The COVID-19 pandemic represents one of the most difficult periods in our country’s history. The pain, suffering, and the loss of life that it inflicted reached out to touch each and every Indian family no matter how rich or poor. However, during this time while we saw a great deal of how we as a country failed our people’s, there was much that happened, often behind the scenes, that was remarkable. This talk will focus on some of this work and will try and share some real-life examples of organizations and efforts that went well beyond the call of duty to reach out and help people. A note on resources on this topic is attached.

CITAPP’s Monthly Seminar Series is an attempt to create a forum where researchers across IIITB domains can meet and discuss cutting edge research on the chosen theme of the semester. The Series hopes to explore a technology or topic for its ramifications in different realms of social activity. In particular, we are interested in understanding the specific kinds of complexity that these domains present for technological innovation and design.
