Wikipedia Edit-a-thon | Collaboration with Lean-In club, IIITB

CITAPP, in collaboration with the Lean-In club at IIIT Bangalore, organised a Wikipedia edit-a-thon on Monday, March 27th to add more topics, sources, and images, and update and translate articles. The event’s focus was to address gaps around why some pages are more informative than others. In order to celebrate women – in particular, Indian women (on account of Women’s day on March 8th), the theme for this edit-a-thon was ‘Indian Women’. The event was an effort to improve women’s presence on Wikipedia.

CITAPP at IIIT Bangalore is an interdisciplinary think-tank set-up to focus on the policy challenges and the organizational demands made by technological innovation. Of particular interest to the Centre is how technological advances, along with institutional changes that harness the legitimacy and the powers of bureaucracies and market, address the needs of underserved communities.
