The French Institute of Pondicherry hosted a Social Sciences Winter School, ‘Digital & Society’ from 13th to 17th November 2023. IIIT-Bangalore, along with several other notable institutions, was an organising partner. The Social Sciences Winter School in Pondicherry (SSWSP) is an Indo-French cooperation that has been designed as a programme of intensive and multidisciplinary training workshops addressing theoretical and methodological issues in social sciences research. This event’s objective was to provide each and every one with the opportunity of sharing experiences and research ideas.
Professors Bidisha Chaudhuri and Janaki Srinivasan were among the faculty for the winter school. They conducted sessions on Science and Technology Studies (STS) approaches to looking at Digital Infrastructure while also mentoring attendees throughout the winter school. Doctoral candidate Ashwini Baje from CITAPP also participated in the 5-day event.
