Book Talk – Janaki Srinivasan at the University of Oslo

Janaki Srinivasan was invited by the University of Oslo to give a glimpse of her book “The Political Lives of Information: Information and the Production of Development in India” as part of the Information Systems (IS) research group events.

The Information Systems (IS) research group analyses the relationships between digital platforms, global public health and broader development processes through interventionist, action research methods, what they call Digital Platforms for Development (P4D). The research group focuses on challenges of governance, participatory design, implementation and the impacts of these interventions on research, practice and society.

CITAPP at IIIT Bangalore is an interdisciplinary think-tank set-up to focus on the policy challenges and the organizational demands made by technological innovation. Of particular interest to the Centre is how technological advances, along with institutional changes that harness the legitimacy and the powers of bureaucracies and market, address the needs of underserved communities.
