Inauguration of M.Sc. (Digital Society) Programme

Description: IIIT-B welcomed its inaugural batch of M.Sc. (Digital Society) students on 20th July 2015. The inaugural session saw Prof. Sadagopan, Prof. Ramani, Prof. Prabhu and Prof. Vyasulu sharing their constructions of the digital society and challenges and opportunities they see in terms of contributions through a better design and use of information technology.

This was followed with a talk by Mr. Sunil Abraham from Centre for Internet and Society on Internet Policy and Privacy.

CITAPP at IIIT Bangalore is an interdisciplinary think-tank set-up to focus on the policy challenges and the organizational demands made by technological innovation. Of particular interest to the Centre is how technological advances, along with institutional changes that harness the legitimacy and the powers of bureaucracies and market, address the needs of underserved communities.
