CITAPP Tuesday Meeting 3: ‘Cross border digital flows and its economic impacts’

Date: 23-02-2016

Description: The third CITAPP roundtable was on “Cross border digital flows and its economic impacts”, led by V. Sridhar, on 23rd February 2016.

Though there have been a number of studies on the impact of Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) on economic development, there is dearth of research on the impact of cross-border digital flows on economies of associated countries. This research funded by the South Asia Network of Economic Research Institutes (SANEI) attempts to characterize digital flows across countries and uses them along with other flows in modeling and analyzing economies of countries.

CITAPP at IIIT Bangalore is an interdisciplinary think-tank set-up to focus on the policy challenges and the organizational demands made by technological innovation. Of particular interest to the Centre is how technological advances, along with institutional changes that harness the legitimacy and the powers of bureaucracies and market, address the needs of underserved communities.
